wear yourself out and feel right again.
Sep. 1st, 2015 11:33 pmOne day I will be really good at planning/preparing things for a party. Even when I think I have planned things well, there are other tinier details that I have to fit in. A party for a child is pretty simple in theory, and the audience is a pretty forgiving one. "Is there cake? sugar? are there other children to run around with? Success!!" It might have had to do with asking my daughter what she wanted, and me saying, "sure!" I forgot to add how many times I said sure, and then I had a million things to do. And tidy up the house a bit, though I really don't need to, as any parent who stays is a casual sort on the house-keeping front and isn't inclined to judge me.
Right. So, I went for that run, and it was good, and ugly. The good side was that my legs didn't feel heavy, I didn't have have any significant leg/hip/foot pain, and the weather was pleasant. The ugly side is that the very last of my chest cold is still present, and so my lung power wasn't at its best. This meant I had to take some breaks and do walking, and oh sweet lord did my lungs hurt at times. To take the optimistic view, it certainly freed up the last of the goblins in my chest. I sweated, was red in the face, and looked absolutely gross. But I let go of the crazy, all those extra adrenals that insist upon hanging out in my body, and things felt better. (especially after a shower, and a few sausage rolls. -though not both at once. It would make the sausage rolls too damp.)
My brother in law (the one that some of my friends refer to as Seth, as the other is more of a Reuben.) came over today with his fancy land-scaping tools, and trimmed the little box hedge in the back garden, and then he trimmed our side of the hedge that lines the drive. THEN he chopped up a bunch of branches I sawed off a couple of trees. (they needed trimming.) He was kind enough to stuff them in the garden waste bin. We paid him for his effort, and told him he is welcome any time.
In between all of that, and the grocery shopping, and the running of errands, I baked a few cakes, made a jello mold, a sorbet, and some ice blue candy glass. I finally had to stop. For I was tired. I am tired. But a calm kind of tired.
I shall take a hot bath, read my giant book about war, and think about tomorrow. (one of my favorite days.)
