meanest mommy west of the meridian
Dec. 1st, 2015 10:18 amI haven't bought my kids those chocolate advent calendars before. I am a mean mother that way. I have bought them super lovely pretty ones in the past, and they also have one that their Nana made for them. But I have long held out. But I thought I would be kind and get a couple of them for Senor Onion and Miss Biscuit. I picked them up from school yesterday and as we were driving home we were talking about how it would be December and soon it would be time for advent calendars and isn't that fun. The kids then said, "eh... but we want the chocolate ones." Thus began comments from the back seat about how they NEVER EVER get the chocolate ones and I am just the cruelest mother in all of Great Britain and OMG...
We come inside and said, "oh hey let me show you the advent calendars I found for you." and I busted out two chocolate advent calendars and they were sooooooooooooooooo surprised and "OMG THIS IS THE BEST!!!" "I GOT A FROZEN ONE!!!!" "STAR WARS!!!!!" "Can we keep them in our room?"
They were quite pleased. They opened up their first one this morning. "I had chocolate right after I got up!!!" "cool. Eat your breakfast."
Sometimes I lessen my mean mommy status a little.
Last night the kids got out their artificial trees and decorated them their way. Miss Biscuit is strong in her decorating themes. "I want it pink. A LOT of pink." (I may have to take a picture because it is stunning in its pinkness) Senor Onion is a bit more traditional in his approach but he is in love with the glow of the lights in his room.
Now to do up the rest of the house for advent.
