My mother taught us early on, how immoral it was to let your fellow human being fall to the side without an ounce of sympathy or attempt to help.

I would like to point out that the people in this country got rid of a King George along time ago because of how he treated the people, and the government with absolute contempt.
I do believe the Founding Fathers are turning in their graves.

respectfully, that king george analogy is a buncha crap, and the founding fathers would've been turning 80 years ago, my dear. there's nothing so different about today except there just happens to be an administration you don't agree with.

Riiight, nothing different. The patriot act, and other similar measures/laws are the difference. There's more than just "disagreement" with the current admin, I didn't feel that my rights were being eroded under Clinton's (or Bush Sr.'s for that matter) administration.

I do believe Thomas Jefferson (who was quite the radical) would deeply oppose something like the Patriot Act which denies many people their basic rights.

Are you not bothered by the fact that there are people being held with out proper legal representation or even access to that represenation?

We can't just pick and choose the amendments we like on any given day of the week.
