gfrancieNormally I prefer to keep my posts fairly light and in that moment of weakness when I bared my feelings, it was genuinely kind to see the response and empathy from many kind friends.
It is truly a universal female perspective of feeling top of the world one moment and then be at the bottom of the basement about our looks.
To sum it all up:
-Cameras are evil
-pound cake solves all problems
-thank goodness there are yoga/pilate dvd's so we can look silly in the privacy of our own home.
....
Let's move on.
I put together something for dinner which has some healthy elements so we feel good about what we are eating and some genuinely happy things that make us smile.
For dinner I have taken tomatoes and took a cue from the French who find the seeds to be uncivilized and I removed them and brushed them lightly with olive oil (extra virgin for your pleasure) and rolled the slices in some minced basil.
I roasted them for 15-20 minutes until they had slightly browned edges and the peel looked like it was thinking of leaving.
I then sauteed some boneless chicken breasts with some basil, garlic and sliced mushrooms.
I added the tomatoes and turned down the heat. I tossed in some red wine and called it good.
I mixed this together with some pasta and ta-da.
A simple simple dinner with some elements of health.
I may serve this with some fresh sweet corn or a romaine salad.
We shall see.
For desert I may make a lemon souffle.
Something light and delicious and rich.
One can't feel sorry for themselves for too long.

For a good laugh tonight I bring you a direct quote from Andrew. This morning I showed him a photograph of a singer that appeared in a recent issue of The New Yorker and in the photograph you catch a clear shot of her pubic hair. He took a sip of his tea and said, "It is too early in the morning to see someone's public hair."
He then said, "except yours of course."
Good save Mr. Jenner....good save.
