Somedays you just phone it in.
Sep. 22nd, 2003 08:25 pm1. Scenario then question: You start chatting with a stranger in a bar or
a restaurant. Unbeknownst to you, or the stranger, the stranger is an
LJ'er who reads your journal regularly. Of course, the stranger is
initially oblivious to the fact he/she is talking to "gfrancie". How
quickly (if at all) would he/she make the connection based on your
conversation?
Boy, I have talked to a few people only to find out they are well-acquainted with my livejournal and that is always a bit amusing/alarming. Usually they would figure it out if I began to talk about work, my boyfriend, something I ate recently or if I should bring up my former husband "Carlton".
2. You need to drum up a snack for a friend who is arriving within the
1/2 hour. You open the fridge and find you are unusually low on
provisions: you have two eggs, a small knob of butter, half a mango, a
small jar of Dijon mustard, and some dubious looking half-and-half.
What's worse is you look in your cupboards and you have nothing but flour
and a half-eaten box of cornflakes. You have no time to go shopping. What
do you drum up?
You do like to make things complicated don't you? I think I would take take the eggs and whip them together with the dubious half and half (I figure since I am cooking them, I can risk it a little) and make a quick omelette and maybe add a bit of dijon mustard on top...as a slight garnish, it would give it a slightly different flavor, but would work on the spot.
I would then take the mango, and slice a bit more, dredge it in flour and then cornflakes and then fry it up in butter. Kind of creating a fried sweet. (knowing me, I would have champagne mangos so it would be a delicate flavor)
3. You're at work, stocking some shelves, when a chap comes up and asks
for help finding a few books. You look at his list, and are staggered to
see that his tastes *exactly* coincide with your own. Moreover, he's
awfully hunky, well spoken, and British to boot :-) Do you behave
professionally or, with gay abandon, ravish him on the spot?
I would be professional and under my definition of 'professional' (because this is often how I get certain people to buy books) I would flirt with him in my usual candid manner and give him a discount because I like his looks. Though...possibly knowing him, he is probably my boyfriend so I would ravish him near Teen Fiction since it is a fairly secluded spot.
4. Do you prefer starters, main dishes, or desserts, in general?
I like the communal and improvised nature of starters, I like the grandiose surprise of main dishes and the sensual allure of many desserts.
5. Have you ever been married to someone famous?
I don't think we need to bring up my past at this time.
Okay campers, same deal, want me to interview you? Because I will. I will make David Frost seem like a game show host after I am through with you.
comment if you are up for that kind of fun.
