In famous dead people who have died news...it seems it is Elia Kazan's turn. He was ninety four. How I admire his work, but I do think of him as a bit of a rat for outing people as communists during the McCarthy era. So one is a bit conflicted at times.
If you want a bit of perverse fun, watch, "BabyDoll".

I am having strange dreams...again.
Time for breakfast.

It's frustrating that people you admire are never "perfect." It's tough to have heros because there is always that little "something." Of course, people who are out there really living life are going to cross the line sometimes. The most productive, useful . . . yes, admirable people are often the most flawed.

My mother who is an artist always said, "you can't judge the artist's work just because he/she had a horrible personality or did awful things."

I think Picasso or Pollack are fine examples of that.

Picasso was a womanizing asshole who felt women weren't truly capable of producing capable art. Yet he did some of the most innovative things in the twentieth century. So we forgive a lot.

The same thing can be said for Eliza Kazan. He was probably one of the biggest fuck-wits around. Yet he could produce some of the best performances and pieces of cinematic/theaterical art in the twentieth century.

I heard about that. A bit of a pity. I have always liked his work.

He's one of my theatre idols. His work was amazingly descriptive and telling. Sad about Donald O'connor.

How was the shopping trip?
