After an obscene dinner and a lovely sleep we decided to venture out...to breakfast.
It was a bright beautiful day and we had a table right by the falls and a very funny old couple. The woman was asking the man if he had taken his pill and he said he would take it when he got home. She said, "well you might as well take it now." You get the basic idea of the conversation. They seemed to be enjoying themselves.
We had tea, orange juice and silly conversation as usual.
For breakfast Andrew had the eggs benedict. We have a generally unspoken rule that only one person can get the eggs benedict. We both like it so much, but someone has to order something else. I had the Railroad Avenue. Which comes with three eggs any style, with smoked bacon, honey cured ham, and apple-pork sausage crisp shoestring herbed potatoes and a buttermilk biscuit. I refer to it as the Atkins Diet Delight. I had my eggs scrambled. They weren't the best scrambled eggs I ever had, but they weren't Denny's. A nice half-way point. I couldn't finish my breakfast. There was just so much to it. Andrew barely finished his and then we waddled back to our room. We read the paper. We had the crossword to do.
Then at Eleven we went to our first spa treatment. Goodness, Mr. Boyfriend takes me to a lovely place, fills me with food and now wants to spiol me some more.
Insane folks...insane.
The spa is very "chakras" and "fen shui-like". A basic Asian theme with people moving silently getting intouch with the spirit or something...
So we sat there, patiently, drinking water in our robes...waiting.
We first did the Heated River Rock Massage
Which involves
Smooth stones and rich oils are deeply massaged to penetrate fatigued muscles with heated rocks placed on your energy points and used to deliver heat directly to your muscles.
I really wanted to laugh during the massage, because I thought to myself, "I doubt Andrew has ever had another man massage his inner-thighs"
I was right and he said, "it felt a little odd, but I figure, just go with it."
One does feel slightly vunerable lying there naked (under sheets of course) being massaged by some guy. He was really really good and the heated rocks were really really nice. I was so relaxed.
Also during the massage I thought again, "this is how a chicken must feel when it is having oil/butter rubbed into its skin when it is going to be roasted."
I know..."Gennie you think a lot of weird things."
After being so relaxed and dizzy we went and the the sauna/steamroom/pools and then I wanted to take a nap.
Yay naps.
We went to lunch at the Attic.
I had a tender pork loin on a bed of red cabbage. (very mid-western)
Andrew had the duck confit with a mustard sauce. Quite lovely.
Then we did nothing for a good part of the afternoon. Because we could. We did look in the gift shop to see if there was jam.
I found it first.
We like to see if all gift shops have jam, because when you think of snoqualmie falls, you think of..jam.
We have found that to be very true in England, except in Nottingham. I think they can't afford jam in Nottingham.
But they sure can in Tintagel.
Then we had another spa treatment, because we weren't useless parasites, just yet.
We had the Alpine Purification Body Polish
Exfoliate, contour and renew with natural sea salts and oils to smooth, soften and revitalize skin.
They exfoliate you so much, you have the skin of a baby. It is amazing. Plus they massage your scalp, ears, neck.
You have to see how beautiful the bottom of my feet look.
Oh my gosh. Gorgeous.
We then took a shower, came out so soft and pretty we should have been carded for going to a PG-13 film.
Oh we were blissful...
Then we did nothing some more.
We went to dinner.
Later I will do a post just devoted to that meal. Again...decadent.
....
Today we are going to see my mother the fabulous Mrs. Chazbot in a play. We are pleased. We will probably have some ice cream as well.
Yay for ice cream. Yay!
