How do LifeTime movies suck you in?
They are so poorly acted, everyone is some gross caricature and yet you find yourself pulled in. Oh sweet mary...I feel dirty.
*takes a deep breath*
Enough talk about my vices.
Today I went out and took care of some Christmas shopping and I also did some shopping for Thanksgiving. That particular holiday is one of my favorites and I enjoy planning for it and putting it all together. It is an obsessive love for me. Today I went to Market Spice at the Pike Place Market.(85A Pike Place Seattle, WA 98101 phone: (206) 622-6340) This is terrific place to buy a wide assortment of teas and tea paraphernalia. Plus many spices and herbs. The prices are quite appealing and they also sell containers for the bulk purchases.
I bought some cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and whole thyme. Just a few of the basics one ought to keep stocked in a kitchen. (no matter how tiny)
When you look at how much one might pay in a grocery store, buying bulk is often the better deal. Partly because spices do not keep forever and people will often have them in their cupboards for years on end, thinking they are still good. Often they will lose their color, flavor and become stale. It is important to replaces things every few months. If you buy bulk you don't pay as much, you only use as much as you truly need and the difference of flavor is incredible.
The shop is well-known for a few different varieties of tea which are perfect for this time of year. Cozy is the word to describe many flavors. It is the sort of thing where you want to have some tea and cakes on a cold day, much like this one and hardly go anywhere.
Tomorrow I am off to Canada. Ah sweet exchange rates and smarties here I come.
...
Today I saw a book my mother must have. It brings back happy memories of my childhood. She would take us out of school to go on field trips to see exhibits and other exciting stuff.
Oh how my mother corrupts minds.
