Did I mention what came in the post recently? I won four books on ebay by K.M. Peyton. Two of which were Flambards books.
This only means something to [livejournal.com profile] morsefan she understands the strange fandom of that particular series.

I am one happy clam.

I am also reading a friends manuscript which is about to be published. Somehow I am becoming an ad hoc literary agent because of this.

Anyone slaves in a bookstore besides me? I can get you an author to do a signing.

Yeah...well I don't work today. Wooo-hoo.
Maybe I will eat pie for breakfast.

Hey, hey! Awesome on the K.M. Peyton. What others did you get? I really liked "Prove Yourself A Hero" as a kid -- others are good too, though Flambards does seem to be K.M. Peyton's "Pride and Prejudice" (more complex and ambitious than the others).

You know, the agent business would be a great one to get in (grin!). Sold my first book myself (OK, so "first" could also be "only" but it won't always be "only") mostly because I was lazy and impatient and while I'm not sure how much better an agent would have done for me, I'm definitely going to send my next book proposal to agents -- I think I'm going to need some help knowing the markets. If you break in (chuckle!), let me know! We'll make our first best seller together (LOL!).

I have Flambards, The Edge of a Cloud, The Beethoven Medal and Fly-By-Night.

I definitely agree with you that Flambards is her "Pride and Prejudice".

If you ever write another book, do tell me, maybe I can look it over. I like reading manuscripts and galley copies.

I will definitely remember this -- because I certainly plan on needing the help!

This is how I am going to spend my life *laughs* reading other people's work.

I have this...(gosh how do I describe him) a former..."whatever" (sometime boyfriend, asshole, friend from the past) who is in the process of writing a book. He wants me to take a look at it and get my thoughts on how to get it published. heh

Flambards and pie. You are a lucky girl, indeed.

I fall in love with Flambards when PBS aired the BBC's dramatization of it. Never did read all the books.

Pie and English series are great.

You can get the books here and there through used book sites and you can buy the PBS series off of amazon.

Pie...you can make.
