I am a dork.

Speaking of Miss Gennie being a dork. Last night we were in the car and listening to Christmas music on the radio and a Karen Carpenter Christmas song came on and I was so excited. I started waving my arms about and saying, "Oh my gosh I love love love The Carpenters". I can't tell you how much I enjoy listening to The Carpenters sometimes. I happent own their greatest hits and everything.


Hrm...reminds me of a joke I once heard. "If Mamma Cass and Karen Carpenter had been in the same room together they could have kept eachother alive."
heh okay so only I find that funny...

I wrapped presents. Whew. I am tired.

My mother was a big fan of the Carpenters when I was a child; we listened to them, A LOT. Come to think of it, my mother was a big fan of creative women who basically killed themselves or drove themselves crazy or whatnot: Karen Carpenter, Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Plath . . . message here? I'm sure there is, but I just don't know what it is.

there's a great carpenters cover album by indie bands and sonic youth's rendition of "superstar" is awesome! shonen knife's version of "on top of the world" pretty much rules too. : ) yay for the carpenters!
