We are sitting down and doing the guest-list thing. I think we know too many people. Also I am trying to restrain myself from inviting every single person I have ever had a conversation with because I don't want to hurt feelings. Maybe it is time to exercise the slightly selfish bride and not invite a few people.

I started making a rather dandy chicken stock this morning. I put in some shallots and so far the flavor is amazing. Amazing I tell you. I am going to make chicken pie tonight and the bechamel I will make will have incredible flavor.

Now to have some lunch.

eight million.
I dunno...probably around 200. Though I think at least a third probably can't make it.

Really? That reminds me of those scenes in Father of the Bride where he keeps quoting the cost of his daughters wedding, "$250 a head."

Those are the weddings of people with too much money and not enough sense.

Not brutal...merely tactful.

But I must must must invite every single person who ever knew of my presence. heh
I figure I will pick and choose carefully.

Btw...we got a proof of our wedding invitation today. Your dahlias made it perfect.

Thank you so much for all the inspiration, help and sympathy. You are the best.

It worked perfectly as is. We found a sexy but classy font, put in the wording and voila. Perfection.

Though people at kinkos sure lack personality or a half-way decent sense of customer service.

Man am I in that same boat. I feel like I HAVE to invite every family member, because if you invite an aunt, shirley you have to invite her kids. And if you invite one favorite second-cousin, shirley you have to invite all her siblings. And my family is huge, and I feel totally obliged to invite everyone. Same with Kody. Which is why our guest list is now 300 people.

I am okay when it comes to family. It is friends. I have to be reasonable. Really reasonable. I just don't want people to feel hurt. But then I tend to spend most of my time worrying about this stuff. Maybe it is time not worry about people.

How many people do you expect to come over from the UK?

Not that many. A good portion of aunts and uncles and cousins can't make it because they can't leave school just to come to a wedding. Plus the cost is a bit much for some. But they have a better chance of coming these days because the pound is so damn strong. (lucky bastards) so the cost isn't that bad.
