gfrancieI love Anthony Bourdain's new show. But then I love Anthony Bourdain. What can I say? I have a fondness for ex-junkie chefs (my Father excluded) who know their stuff. I spent a nice portion of my childhood in a restaurant and I always thought that chefs and kitchen staff were crazy bastards like this. Apparently they are also civilized people. But I prefer the former. Bourdain makes me miss Paris a ton. The meals that were so sinfully intoxicating, the absolute excitement of every moment. There was a bit on tonight's show that reminded me of the fun I had drinking absinthe in England that one night. (faint memories of talking to firemen and an Oriental bathroom that looked like an Opium den)

Right now I am reading "Soul of a Chef" which tells you a lot about what loonies these people who cook for a living tend to be.
