I love Mr. Jenner's family but they spend half of their time planning for disasters that won't ever happen. Every single little thing must be discussed at great length for ever and ever. sarahparah who is married to a British sort knows exactly what I am talking about. It makes you want to go bonkers at times. You get a bunch of English people together in one place and any sort of outing requires the prep. that was made when people were exploring deepest Africa. I find myself having to play the part of the pushy American and I tell them, "we are doing this and then that so don't worry." Then they try and find flaws in the suggestion and they can't and then they are driven nuts because they can't discuss that and they have to go back to discussing the weather or whether to have another cup of tea.

When I was a Munchkin my Mom obsessed over me losing stuff.

"Now do you have the (insert really lame stupid object here)"
"Yes."
"Are you sure you have the XYZ?"
"Yup."
"Don't forget the XYZ."
"It's right here! I have it in my pocket!"
"Did you put it back in your pocket after you took it out?"
At this point my head explodes.

Ze Engleesh (mine is ze 2nd Engleesh huzband for me) have dis ting where dey must talk...how you say, natter...about something. If you are ze lucky one they natters about ze weather or ze shopping. But if one of dem sez the negatifs tings zey start with ze...how you say, whinge?
