Go for it. It's no business of other people what you do on your own property. If you were doing it in your front garden they may have something to complain about, in the back one that's private and they should just not look.

See it is one of those problems with living in the city. The houses are all squished incredibly close together. In this case, the neighbors on the left are right up against the fence in the backyard. They are a nice older couple, I wouldn't want to disturb them. On the right, less then ten feet is away is the other neighbors house. When I am doing dishes I can look right into someones bedroom (there is an einstein poster, a desk, and a bong)
so, everyone is sort of tripping over one another.
