gfrancieIt has been raining today. It continues to rain. (we are in the midst of a pineapple express)
So what do I do?
I make candy.
These are the chocolate truffles. I think they will taste good...
I then made the custard base for Christmas cake ice cream.
I accomplished a few other things today. I mailed off some packages, helped my son wallpaper another room of his dollhouse and generally entertained everyone. I was not feeling inspired when it came to dinner so we went out to the local alehouse up the hill. The kids played with toys by the fire, (along with other kids) I chatted a bit with Mr. Jenner while looking at some section of the NY Times. It was all very civilized. Then we had burgers and the family shared a brownie sundae. We made our way back to the car (as it was pouring down) and then took a round-a-bout route home so we could see some fun light displays. Viewing light displays in whilst driving in the rain is a Northwest tradition. The rain makes the lights even prettier. This is a fact. Look it up. Then home to bed for small people.

And dammit. You get all the cool people. First the queen, now Franco and Rogen? *sigh*
Here, we have a metric fuckton of snow. And it's cold so getting the kid outside to play will be...interesting.
