Well, we are still here.
Neither one of us slept well.
I told Mr. Jenner, "My brain was stuck on the car accident channel all night long when I did get sleep. I wish I had the Netflix instant watch feature in my brain. Because I really could have used a viewing of Beach Blanket Bingo."
I want to thank everyone for their comments and advice.
I will be calling to make a doctor appt today. I figure there will be a visit to the doctor, probably a chiropractor and a massage therapist. We are getting a rental fromm our insurance company, we will probably have to get a new car seat (even though it appears just fine) and we only have had our new car insurance for four days.
They are gonna love us. *blinks*
I don't know if the car is going to be fixed or if we are going to have to get a new car. Good lord... So much to think about.
Dinner was fantastic.
We went to Cafe Presse. (owned by the same people who own Le Pichet) It is a slightly more casual experience compared to the other place but it is warm and cozy and the waiting staff looks very punk/grunge and the service is excellent. Non-obtrusive and timely. You can sit at the bar, buy magazines, eat, drink and have a good time.
We sat down and started with half a dozen oysters -each. They were lovely and then for the main course Mr. Jenner had Steak-frites. The steak was cooked in a cognac-peppercorn sauce. I had the raclette with boiled potatoes, an array of cured meats and pickled onions and cornichons. This was appropriate winter-time food.
Then I had their drinking chocolate for dessert. It was like thinner chocolate pudding, only much more bitter and it came with a plate of whipped cream.
These people don't mess around.
I wanted to marry this chocolate and have its babies.
It was that fantastic.
It was a leisurely meal. One I want to have again.
Okay so the drive home wasn't so pleasant but you can't have everything. I figure at the very least my post about the accident was kind of funny. That was my aim at least. I am sure it is hard for a reader to find it all very amusing but it was just so surreal and the old black ladies threatening to kick the shit out of the other drivers did make it exciting.
So today I have my doctor's appointment. We are beginning to wrestle with the insurance claim and I think we might order in food for dinner. Because y'all? Mummy is one tired lady.
Right now I am sore, exhausted and irritated that my week hasn't started as planned. But I am strangely cheerful. I am alive and okay as is Mr. Jenner. I think that is what kind of threw people last night. In my state of shock I was just so.... happy and smiley.
Still. I kept thinking over and over last night, "I don't EVER want to experience that EVER again."
As in NEVER.
