Sunday was good.
I went out for a bit by myself like a grown up and stuff. I had hot chocolate and wandered around in a few shops. Picked up some knitting needles I need for some project. I went to the market with the intention of buying a chicken and I ended up buying some pork and cider (and the usual root veg & apples) and voila dinner was decided. I did a bit of grocery shopping (to take care of things for the week. Milk, juice, beans and so on) and I sort of regretted that. I think I assumed that most people go buy things for the Super Bowl ahead of time but I am silly. I assume people like to be prepared or something. But then I remember that there are plenty of people who suddenly remember that Thanksgiving is happening...on Thanksgiving.
Mr. Jenner went off to his Shakespeare reading group and I had children to wrangle. Senor Onion took a nap and I watched Blazing Saddles with Miss Biscuit. She mostly drooled and took cat naps. I also folded laundry and put it away as I am a glamorous person. I made cider-braised pork for dinner. Along with some braised kale and sauteed garlic and a nice pile of buttery gnocchi. There were madeleines for those that wanted it. I had cocoa.
Mr. Jenner is working this evening so I have been watching Spaced. It is good comforting television; especially if you have some jaffa cakes about. (which I do.)
and now...
