So far things are going as planned. (knock on wood)

For Our Thanksgiving menu we are having Turkey with Stuffing. Andrew is making roasted potatoes, we are also having sweet potatoes, brussell sprouts (raw carrots for Andrew), cranberry sauce, rolls, and the world famous jello salad.

Along with that we shall have olives, bread and butter pickles and pickled herring.

I admit pickled herring is an acquired taste but we love it in our family. I told Andrew he didn't have to try it.

For dessert we shall keep it simple. Lemon Meringue Pie, Pumpkin Pie and my sister Kit is bringing brownies.
I suspect the brownies will taste great with the pumpkin ice cream.

We hope to come out of our coma three days from now.

....

In happy happy news one of the local PBS stations is showing "Meet Me in Saint Louis". Can we say Miss Gennie is a happy girl?
*dances around the room for awhile and then checks on the turkey*

Are you trying out the sweet potato recipe I gave you? My sister just mentioned that she is going to miss having that dish as we are going elsewhere for dinner. She did make a lime and cranberry tart (the one on the front of the current Bon Appetite) and a honey pumpkin pie.

I'm hungry :o)

I wasn't able to do it today because I lacked pecans.
But I will try it fairly soon. After all one can never have too much sweet potatoes in their diet.

So did you eat well?

Sounds like a clever idea. I should start collecting as many sweet potato recipes as humanly possible.

It has some culture, but then so does yogurt.
It is more like a truman capote novel, but many people don't feel the need to sleep with their cousins.

They just drink their sweet selves into oblivion.

but many people don't feel the need to sleep with their cousins.

i think this would have a detrimental effect on the tourist trade.

My dad makes expertly sexy pickled herring. Does it every year for the past few decades, perfecting his own recipe.I will smuggle an extra jar of it when he asks me how many tons I want this year.
